We will ask you in the December following move-in whether you wish to remain tenants for a further academic year. If you’re not staying on, here are a few steps you need to consider before your last day as an Accomco tenant:

  • Ensure that all rubbish is removed from the property. Items left will be disposed of and you may be charged for their disposal
  • Please do not stack rubbish in front of your homes, again you will be charged for disposal
  • Ensure that your home is as clean as you found it at the start of the tenancy.
  • Ensure that all furniture and appliances remain in the house with all of their accessories (as listed on the property inventory)
  • Ensure that the gardens are free from waste, traffic cones and other detritus of late night debauchery
  • Ensure that where holes have been caused in the walls by whatever means, any damage is repaired.
  • Ensure that kitchens and bathrooms, particularly toilets, showers, ovens, hobs and extractors are all clean
  • Ensure that there are no blu-tack marks on newly decorated surfaces.
  • Check your gas and electricity final meter readings and inform your suppliers that you will be moving as of 01 September.
  • Likewise, you may wish to inform Southampton City Council that you have moved for Council Tax purposes.

The last day of your tenancies will be the 31st August and you must vacate your houses by midnight on that day. Please let us know exactly when you plan to leave. Keys must be returned to us in the same state as they were issued either by arrangement, recorded delivery or by leaving them at an arranged location inside the property. Shortfalls will incur a £10 key-cutting charge. The above list is not meant to replace the detailed terms of your contracts, copies of which are available from the login area.
